Sarah Brightman stars in futuristic opera

Repo! The Genetic Opera, which stars Sarah Brightman, is gaining lots of talk in film circles as the next coming of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The opera features no less than fifty musical number and features a number of Hollywood big hitters. In addition to Sarah, the show stars Paul Sorvino, Paris Hilton, Alexa Vegas and more. The story is set in the future, when for mysterious reasons human organs begin failing, plunging the world into despair. Luckily, a company steps in to save the day. GeneCo, a futuristic pharmaceutical company, begins to sell working organs, for a price. Should patients default on their payments, a repo-man is sent to collect the defaulted organs. The musical obviously has something to say about the current state of affairs, and should be a good watch for anyone that likes musicals and has a concern about the world we live in. Sarah Brightman stars as Blind Mag, who was born without eyesight, but who has her eyesight restored by GeneCo. In the play, she has been marked for repossession and also has to perform for thecompany's opera. Sarah Brightman performs a number of musical number for the show, including “Crucifixus," Bravi!," "Tao of Mag," Luigi, Pavi, Amber Harass Mag,” “Zydrate Support Network” and more. The film is based on a play written and composed by Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich. It received an R rating for strong bloody violence and gore, language, some drug and sexual content. It cost $8,500,000 to make and is set for limited release on November 7. For now the film is showing in just a few select cities including Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Orlandoand Seattle.
